Support from the Cologne/Bonn Academy in Exile
The CBA is a forum for exchange, but does not provide any financial resources itself. In addition to administrative support, the CBA offers work spaces and academic mentoring in the specific disciplines to enable researchers to integrate more successfully into the local, national and European higher education landscape. Integration into the academic environment of the CBA is also possible without funding.
Target group
The CBA supports researchers from Ukraine who have fled the war in their country. Researchers from Belarus and Russia who are persecuted for their oppositional position against the war are also invited to continue their academic work at the Universities of Cologne and Bonn.
The Academy's focus is on law, political science, history, cultural studies and linguistics. Of particular importance are projects on comparative politics, law and linguistics as well as on European history.
Main goals of the project
-
Contributing to the integration of Ukraine into the European community against the background of EU accession.
-
Preservation and promotion of regionally specific knowledge in the German and European academic landscape
-
Supporting the transition to a peaceful future after the war
Refugee Scholar Support
In addition to the integration of the fellows into already existing networks of the participating institutes, the CBA researchers receive comprehensive advice and assistance from the Refugee Scholar Support departments of the Universities of Cologne and Bonn, which belong to the German section of the Scholars at Risk network (SAR).
